About Laughlin Air Force Base

Laughlin Air Force Base is one of the busiest airfields in the U.S. Air Force and proudly serves as home to the 47th Flying Training Wing. Over the past 50 years, Laughlin has trained more than 15,000 pilots for the U.S. Air Force, Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard, and allied nations.

Spanning 5,436 acres, the installation supports nearly 2,900 military, federal civilian, and contract personnel, ensuring mission success every day.

The 47th Flying Training Wing conducts specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training using the T-6 Texan II and T-38 Talon aircraft. The Wing’s mission is to deliver mission-ready Airmen while developing professional, disciplined leaders for the United States and its global partners.

Laughlin AFB is proud to be the number one pilot-producing base in the U.S. Air Force, operating at the forefront of aviation training and technology.
